A good headshot is important.
For people who are online dating, potential matches will decide if they want to go out with you in fractions of a second, merely by glancing at your profile photo. If you're single and dating, you already know the importance of a good "not trying too hard" photo on Hinge.
Social media, too, has given us all a really good reason to have iconic photos taken. Even if the name is a little ridiculous, the concept of a "personal brand" is here to stay. Most of my clients take a mix of online dating and social media photos during their session.
My style of head shots can be described as "editorial" or "lifestyle". We take to the streets, coffee shops, bars, and your living room to create images that show you as YOU in the best light.
My photography career started in 2007, taking portraits. Eventually that evolved into a successful wedding photography career, and I'm still doing that today.
Still, I missed the simplicity of portrait photography. I also started online dating myself, and found out first hand that there is a real need for excellent photography for dating. Party photos just don't do the trick, and your bathroom mirror selfie makes you look like you don't have friends.
Thus, a second business born.
On a personal note, I met my husband on OKCupid (when we meet, I'll tell you about my 30 first dates) so I'm personally invested in getting good shots for you. We live in Brooklyn with our dog.
